Sectors
Known as the Defence State, South Australia will be the home of Australian nuclear-powered submarine construction, helping to deliver Australia’s next-generation nuclear-powered submarines as part of the AUKUS deal.
Lot Fourteen is home to defence organisations that play a key role in civilian and defence space technology projects and also houses the Defence and Space Landing Pad.
South Australia is home to the Australian Space Agency and over 100 space-related organisations.
Lot Fourteen is the launch site for much of the sector’s growth in Australia. Co-locating with key players like the Australian Space Agency, the Australian Space Discovery Centre and Responsive Space Operations Centre (RSOC), and the SmartSat Cooperative Research Centre (CRC); our district is pioneering home-grown startups including Inovor Technologies, Myriota, and Neumann Space.
Cybersecurity impacts all aspects of society and the global economy. At Lot Fourteen, organisations work together to tackle new and evolving threats, such as supply chain attacks, ransomware, insider risk, deepfakes and nation-state attacks.
Our innovation district is home to leading cyber security entities including Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre, MITRE, CyberOps and Cisco.
The capabilities of this ambitious district reflect the state’s key priorities, alongside critical technologies that are in the national interest.
These technologies are either critical for Australia today or could become so within the next 10 years.
From AI, quantum computing and energy to sensing, timing and photonics, Lot Fourteen has attracted leading organisations including the University of Adelaide’s Australian Institute for Machine Learning, the Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre, and CORE Innovation Hub.
Creative industries are a strategic industry sector with a focus on post-production, digital and visual effects and gaming. Creative industries at Lot Fourteen are represented by post-production companies, animation specialists, virtual reality studios and startups using augmented reality.
Changing the course of history
Lot Fourteen is revitalising the 7-hectare former Royal Adelaide Hospital site into a mixed-use innovation district in the Adelaide CBD.
Funded by the Government of South Australia, the Australian Government and private sector investment, Lot Fourteen is a 6 Star Green Star Community based on its liveability, governance, economic prosperity and environmental impact.
We are the first global standard WELL Community to be pre-certified in the southern hemisphere by the International WELL Building Institute.
Lot Fourteen has rapidly moved from a working hospital site to a buzzing city-centre innovation district, which will eventually be home to over 6,000 workers and researchers.
