We are looking for a motivated and skilled Safety Engineer to contribute to the development, integration, and maintenance of complex systems.

Based in Mawson Lakes, SA and reporting to the Program Manager – Professional Services, you will support senior engineers in designing, implementing, and validating system solutions while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and project requirements.

In this pivotal role, also assist with system testing, troubleshooting, and creating technical documentation.

Key responsibilities:

 

Requirements Definition:

  • Gather and analyse system requirements from stakeholders.
  • Develop comprehensive requirements documentation and traceability matrices.

 

System Design:

  • Contribute to the creation of system architecture and design specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide valuable feedback to ensure alignment with system requirements.

 

Implementation:

  • Aid in the integration of hardware and software components into cohesive systems.
  • Work closely with senior engineers to implement system solutions and configurations.

 

Verification and Validation:

  • Develop and execute test plans to validate system performance and reliability.
  • Participate in functional, integration, and system testing activities.

 

System Integration & Troubleshooting:

  • Conduct integration of subsystems into a unified system.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues effectively.

 

System Validation:

  • Ensure systems meet operational requirements and performance criteria.
  • Prepare thorough validation reports and documentation.

 

Development, Deployment & Support:

  • Specify and manage changes to engineering baselines for assigned capabilities/systems/products.
  • Participate in design reviews and working groups with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support during system installation, configuration, and maintenance.

 

Safety & Compliance:

  • Comply with all relevant legislation, company policies, and health & safety regulations.
  • Ensure all safety concerns and hazards are reported and addressed promptly.

 

About you

 

Experience & Skills:

  • Experience in the fields of Systems Engineering (i.e. Requirements Management, System Architecture, Systems Integration, and/or Verification and Validation).
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of system integration and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in using systems engineering software tools and simulation environments (e.g. DOORS, Cameo Systems Modeller).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field etc.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system integration issues.
  • Experience in developing and executing verification and validation plans.
  • A commitment to safety and compliance in all engineering tasks.

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
