About the Opportunity
Acciona is a dynamic global Tier 1 contractor that continues to grow our capability in the Defence sector. With the significant pipeline of Defence Opportunities, we are looking to expand our team with the addition of an experienced Project Director.

Preferably based out of South Australia, (although not mandatory), you will help drive our continued growth and expansion into the Defence sector. The ideal candidate will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of strategic initiatives aimed at securing new business and ultimately deliver large scale projects within the Defence sector. This role requires excellent communication skills, strategic thinking and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, key clients and stakeholders. The role includes the ability to establish and mentor high performing tender and project teams whilst supporting the growing Defence sector market.

Key accountabilities for the position will be:

• Identify, develop and implement comprehensive work winning strategies aligned with company goals and market trends in the Defence sector.
• Actively lead the preparation of tender proposals, bids, and presentations for new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to gather information, insights, and resources to strengthen tender proposals and develop strategies needed for delivery.
• Transition work winning initiatives into the establishment of the project and into the delivery phase of the projects/opportunities.
• Establish, develop and mentor high performing teams to oversee the delivery of complex, large scale projects for key Defence clients.
• Manage and oversee successful project delivery through managing project budgets and schedules, Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and communication to key stakeholders efficiently.
• Prepare comprehensive project status reports and effectively communicate with Senior Management.
• Support the business in maintaining DISP accreditation.

What Capability & Experience will you need to have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of work winning strategies, proposal processes, and Defence procurement and delivery methods
• Extensive construction experience on large-scale infrastructure Construction Projects preferably in the Defence sector
• Experience in team leadership management and motivation and communication skills
• Adept in planning, commercial acumen and organisation of work schedules
• Available for short term travel to facilitate business growth and relationships in the Defence sector.
• Due to the nature of Defence Contracts, we require on Australian Citizens to apply.
