• In Conversation: Insights from SmartSat Alumni on Australian Industry Experience
  In this session, SmartSat alumni Skevos Karpathakis, who graduated in 2024, will share his experiences transitioning into the industry sector with CEO and Founder of start-up Paladin Space, Harrison Box.They will provide insights into their career journeys, the challenges they faced, and valuable lessons learned along the way. This is a great opportunity to gain practical advice and ask questions about navigating careers beyond academia.
• Oliver Hatswell (Flinders University) | P3.44s Innovative Mapping of Archaeological Landscapes Using Satellite Remote Sensing
  Oliver Hatswell is an archaeologist specialising in geophysics, with a particular interest in archaeological sciences. He holds a Master of Archaeology and Heritage Management from Flinders University. His Master’s research applied geophysical techniques to understanding the stratigraphy of the open-air archaeological site Klein Hoek 1 in South Africa. He is currently pursuing a PhD at Flinders University, utilizing satellite remote sensing and machine learning to map archaeological landscapes in the Australian Arid Zone. His research will apply multispectral, multitemporal, and elevation-based methods to map key geomorphic features to inform our understanding of archaeological potential, chronology, and depositional history in the Australian Arid Zone.
• Mohamad Abdul Hady (University of South Australia) | P2.52 Dynamic Optimization of Heterogeneous Constellation Resources
  Mohamad Abdul Hady received a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the Institute of Technology Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Indonesia in 2014. After graduation, he joined as a researcher and lecturer at ITS university in the field of control system engineering. Hady was on leave as a Visiting Researcher at the School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, doing research on autonomous intelligent control system for UAV project between 2018 and 2019. In 2020, Hady came back to ITS university to continue his previous role. He was involved in several research projects funded by Indonesian government and industrial partners to tackle real-world problems. His research interests include intelligent adaptive system, AI based dynamic optimisation, and autonomous system. Currently, he is a PhD student at the University of South Australia dealing with the distributed dynamic optimisation for constellation resources.
