What do neutrinos, bananas and an underground gold mine in Victoria have in common? They are all helping us to chase down dark matter… one of the most mysterious substances in our universe!

Scientific research tells us that almost 85% of the known universe is full of invisible ‘stuff’, known as dark matter. This hands-on workshop will explore how Australian researchers are using the smallest particles to solve our biggest mysteries yet.

During this interactive session, you’ll hear from experts in space, dark matter and quantum research as they showcase a range of hands-on demonstrations and activities. You will also get the chance to explore the space gallery, mission control and more at the Australian Space Discovery Centre.
Hosted onsite at the Australian Space Discovery Centre in collaboration with the National Quantum and Dark Matter Road Trip.

Recommended for student year levels 7-10.

Important notes: students need to be supervised by teachers.
