Southern Launch, based in Adelaide, South Australia, offers infrastructure and operational support for orbital launches, suborbital missions, orbital re-entries, and range services. We have two multi-user launch sites: The Whalers Way Orbital Launch Complex and the Koonibba Test Range.

About the role

As a Civil/Structural Engineer at Southern Launch, you’ll play a crucial role in the design, development, and construction of key infrastructure across both of our sites. Responsibilities include:

• Site Development & Construction: Assist in design, planning, procurement, and execution of infrastructure projects.
• Infrastructure Analysis: Assess site requirements, contribute to feasibility studies, and support project planning.
• Contractor & Vendor Management: Engage with contractors, oversee construction, and ensure quality and safety compliance.
• Project Oversight: Work on multiple projects, take ownership of sub-projects, and support team-wide knowledge sharing.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with Southern Launch staff and domestic/international customers to ensure that infrastructure meets customer needs, site operations requirements, and budget constraints.
• Procurement & Tender Management: Manage tender processes, evaluate proposals, and make recommendations to management or other stakeholders regarding potential contractors for key infrastructure components.
• Site Commissioning: Assist with site commissioning activities to ensure readiness for operations.

About you

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Experience in civil, structural, or related engineering fields.
• Bring broad project experience to our team.
• Strong procurement, design and construction knowledge.
• CAD proficiency and ability to review engineering drawings.

This position requires you to hold and maintain a valid Australian Defence Security Clearance.
