Australia’s new major event, Illuminate Adelaide, was launched by The Hon Steven Marshall MP, Premier of South Australia, at Lot Fourteen today. The curated program includes world premieres, local and international collaborations, and immersive experiences exploring the union of future technologies and the creative industries.
Commencing on 16 July, Lot Fourteen will host Emergent Horizons, a world-first installation set to transform the heritage buildings through innovative interactive projection mapping.
Taking big screen wizardry out into the real world, the installation has been created by Pixel Ninjas, with Rising Sun Pictures and associated artists.
Adelaide visual effects studio Rising Sun Pictures have had a hand in some of the biggest, most ambitious Hollywood blockbusters of the modern era. From Harry Potter to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Rising Sun Pictures team have pushed the artistry and technical possibilities of digital effects forward to create entire worlds onscreen.
Pixel Ninjas forms a team of talented artists from Rising Sun Pictures and beyond and they are bringing it all back home with Emergent Horizons. Emergent Horizons is one of 150 installations, performances, and events – including 41 world premieres – Illuminate Adelaide will create hundreds of jobs in South Australia and the opportunity for audiences around the country to explore a city brimful of innovative and immersive experiences.
A celebration of innovation, music, art and light, Illuminate Adelaide will bring winter to life over 17 days and nights from 16 July 2021.
