Archer teams up to explore graphene for scalable quantum computing 

Lot Fourteen-based Archer has signed a deal with Emergence Quantum to focus on graphene materials and devices.  

With a focus on scalable, cheaper quantum computing chips that can operate at higher temperatures, this strategic partnership aims to accelerate quantum technology development.  

Working with research and development startup Emergence Quantum, the two phase commercialisation program will guide Archer’s research and development and prototype demonstration.  

The first phase of the new program will map graphene’s potential in quantum and non-quantum domains, define technical directions and prepare for funding and more development. The second phase will focus on experimental validation and aim to deliver prototype demonstrations. 

Saab Australia secures radar capability contract extension 

Saab Australia has secured a three-year contract extension with the Commonwealth of Australia to continue supporting the Australian Army’s Lightweight Multi-Mode Radar (LMMR) system.  

With a focus on critical radar capabilities, Saab will play a vital role in ensuring short-range protection from indirect and airborne threats.  

Under the renewed contract, Saab will deliver comprehensive support services including engineering, maintenance, logistics, storage and distribution in collaboration with equipment manufacturer SRCTec.  

Three Lot Fourteen startups selected for AWS Space Accelerator 

Blue Dwarf Space, Space Protocol Pty Ltd and Swyvl, based at Stone & Chalk, Lot Fourteen, have been chosen amongst 67 space startups from Australia, India and Japan. Startups chosen for the program are developing innovative approaches for use cases along the entire space value chain.   

Blue Dwarf Space is automating regulatory compliance across jurisdictions, rapidly generating mission compliance workflows and debris mitigation strategies to accelerate space mission approvals. Their goal is to streamline regulatory processes, even across multi-jurisdictional missions.  

Space Protocol Pty Ltd is a blockchain platform securing autonomous satellite coordination, enabling decentralised risk management, calibration, orbital compliance and resilience against quantum adversaries. Their tools aim to promote safety, sustainability and security in space.  

Swyvl is a centralised platform for integrating 360° imagery and 3D mapping, reducing physical site visits, streamlining collaboration and improving operational decision-making.

The tailored ten-week program will provide comprehensive support, connections, coaching and mentorship, as well as access to space industry leaders, delivered in collaboration with worldwide space agencies, including the Australian Space Agency.   

MyVenue founder wins Entrepreneur Award 

Tim Stollznow, founder and CEO of MyVenue, who started his journey at Lot Fourteen’s Stone & Chalk start-up hub in 2017, received the 2025 SA Pearcey Entrepreneur of the Year Award, which celebrates outstanding and innovative talent across the spectrum of the ICT sector, recognising entrepreneurs who take risks, make a difference and are an inspiration to the technology ecosystem at large. 

Lot Fourteen based, MyVenue now exports world-class technology across the globe with more than $20M in annual export revenues. Its tech is powering billions of dollars in credit card transactions at some of the world’s largest sporting events, including NFL, NBA, Formula 1 and the upcoming 2028 LA Olympics.  

Stone & Chalk a vibrant place to connect, work and invest 

From events to co-working, over 400 people visited the Stone and Chalk startup hub during the first week of November.  

A new co-working space welcomed teams from Atlassian, HEX and Wrkr and the hub was visited by VU Venture Partners and East End Ventures, Employment Hero and Regional Development Australia Adelaide Hills Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island Incorporated.  

Celebrating 10 years of Myriota 

Based at Lot Fourteen since 2019, Myriota celebrated 10 years of delivering solutions for the Internet of Things this November. The company began in 2015 to commericialise research by the University of South Australia’s Institute for Telecommunications, Research, growing from three employees to over 75 employees located across 14 locations globally. 

The celebration event was attended by Michael Brown, Assistant Minister for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Economy, Defence and Space Industries and Enrico Palermo, Head of the Australian Space Agency, employees, alumni, families and friends of the company.
