Defence HQ

Construction has commenced on Defence HQ, which will be a a leading hub for high-value jobs and innovation, while doubling Lot Fourteen’s workforce population to more than 3,000 people.

As a next generation build, the building to be completed by end-2028, will combine the very best of open collaboration zones, cutting-edge innovation and access to a capital city’s premium amenities, embodying the enormous potential that South Australia has to offer and is the first new development to be built at Lot Fourteen.

The Centre will be a hub for the creation for defence related activity, such as AUKUS and the Hunter-Class Frigates, creating jobs to support state’s economy over the coming decades. The Innovation Centre’s pre-committed tenants are:

• BAE Systems Australia
• $60 million Australian Defence Technologies Academy, funded by the Australian ($30 million) and South Australian ($30 million) governments
• $24.5 million Innovation Hub, funded by the Australian ($20 million) and South Australian ($4.5 million) governments
• $20 million SpaceBase, fully funded by the South Australian Government

Defence HQ further cements South Australia’s role as a leading hub for high-value jobs and innovation.

It is a thriving destination capitalising on a large talent pool and has Adelaide Botanic Garden, East End entertainment precinct and cultural institutions on the doorstep.
