Electric Dreams conference coming to Lot Fourteen
Technology is transforming society and business like never before. As creativity precedes innovation, it’s the artists and creative technologists who are leading the conversation in designing tomorrow’s world.
Program details here.
Electric Dreams brings together leaders from the creative community who are at the forefront in creating changes that will shape our society - how we socialise and play; how we group and campaign; how we interact with each other and the environment; and how we influence people and transform society.
If you’re a coder or an entrepreneur, an artist or technologist, an innovator or an investor, a film-maker or musician, a director or producer, a programmer or curator ... Electric Dreams is for you. It’s for people who want to keep on top of the creative and commercial opportunities of emerging technologies. It’s for people who want to shape society, encourage debate and connect with audiences in new ways.
Hear from some of the most influential leaders in creative tech who are working to shape the future of arts and entertainment. Monkeystack and Yellaka have created Yabarra - Dreaming in Light, an immersive work that uses projections, light and sound to allow you to walk into an Aboriginal Dreamtime story.
Industrial Light and Magic are using immersive technologies to let you step inside a living the Star Wars universe and make your presence count. The Imaginarium reinvigorated cinema using motion capture to create animated characters driven by an actor’s authentic performance in Lord of the Rings and Planet of the Apes.
Royal Shakespeare Company is using techniques from film and game production to create live performances of animated characters. The same technology can be used to create DeepFakes with grave consequences for democracy; MIT will help us to spot them.
Ubisoft make games such as Assassin’s Creed and turn them into large-scale live events. Weta Gameshop is the world’s first specialist mixed reality development studio, seamlessly blending the real and digital worlds to create the future of experiential games.
Marshmallow Laser Feast, one of the world’s leading immersive art collectives, use immersive tech to illuminate the hidden natural forces that surround us. This is just a selection of the people you will meet at Electric Dreams.
Electric Dreams offers you a chance to connect with the other members of the creative community and to start to formulate your own visions and spark new collaborations for the future.
Please note, this is one event that runs over 3 days, February 19th-21st. Conference hours are 9:00am-6pm each day. Tickets provide you with access for all three days.
