Reports to: Team Leader, Modelling and Simulation

Location: Defence, Science and Technology Group (DSTG), Edinburgh, South Australia.

Hours of work: Full Time

Remuneration: Negotiable based on experience

Position Description

We are seeking a Scientist or Engineer to join our Modelling and Simulation Team to contribute to our modelling and simulation, and electronic warfare capabilities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with leading experts both from Inovor and our customer to deliver recommendations to Defence clients.

You will be working on a project supporting the acquisition and operational capability of a newly acquired Royal Australian Navy electronic warfare countermeasure system. Using modelling and simulation of missile engagements, you will contribute to the generation of mission data that the system requires to be effective. As a new system, you will help to develop the algorithms, processes, and procedures for mission data generation.

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing, working with, and maintaining existing radio-frequency and electro-optic dynamic models and integrating them in different simulation environments.
  • Data analytics from simulation and real-world trial of electronic warfare threat countermeasure systems.
  • Technical report writing.
  • Engaging with and meeting defence requirements

 

Reporting Relationships and Key Stakeholders

This position reports to the Team Leader, Modelling and Simulation.

The position will work closely with our:

  • Modelling and Simulation team.
  • Customer’s technical team.

Criteria – Essential

We are seeking talented scientists or engineers who have:

  • A relevant degree in Engineering, Science or Computer Science.
  • Experience using Python and/or C++.
  • Eligibility for, or an existing, Australian NV1 security clearance. To meet this, candidates must be Australian citizens.

 

Criteria – Desirable

  • RF modelling, design, and signal processing.
  • Software skills across a range of languages (Python, C/C++).
  • Experience with electro-optic systems.
  • Simulation and modelling of aerospace systems.
  • Foundation in statistics, data processing and analysis.
  • Report writing and customer engagement.
