The Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre is an Australian Signals Directorate endorsed training provider for IRAP New Starter Training Course, which includes the ISM and IRAP fundamentals courses. Successful completion of the ISM and IRAP fundamentals course is core requirement to becoming an ASD Endorsed IRAP Assessor.
Individuals can apply to become IRAP Assessors if they can:
demonstrate Australian citizenship
demonstrate a minimum of five years of technical ICT experience with at least two years of information security experience on systems using the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM) and supporting publications
show evidence of relevant ICT and auditing qualifications, one from Category A and one from Category B
complete an IRAP new starter training course through an ASD approved IRAP training provider
undertake the ASD new starter examination
successfully complete the ISM & IRAP Fundamentals course and pass the exam.
The exam will be held on the afternoon of the fifth day of training. It is your responsibility to ensure you meet the ASD requirements to become an IRAP Assessor.
You have two chances to pass the exam: on the fifth day of training, and a second time no sooner than 3 months from the date of the original training. The second exam is at no extra cost.
You can still sit the course (but not the exam) if you wish to understand the process as your organisation is being IRAP-assessed. This will reduce the cost of the course to $4000 + GST.
